Neville hilariously backtracks after claiming Richarlison had ‘NUTTED’ Gabriel

Football fans are all talking about Gary Neville’s commentary slip up during the north London derby as the former Man United star backtracked on his comments about Richarlison.

The Brazilian collided with his national team-mate Gabriel as Neville spoke too soon with his reaction.

Upon first viewing, it looked like the Spurs striker had headbutted Gabriel and Neville reacted to the incident live.

He said: ‘He’s nutted him. He’s got to go off!’

Neville then had the chance to watch a replay of the incident, while saying: ‘He books him surely? No he doesn’t. It’s his shoulder.’

Fans have taken to social media to react to the hilarious moment as some have stated it’s like Neville was watching from the pub.

‘Gary Neville is riding a full on emotional roller-coaster on commentary here, it’s like he’s in the pub reacting to it all,’ one joked.

Other fans were fuming about the decision, believing that Neville was right in his first assessment.

‘That should be a caution to Richarlison,’ said another spectator.

‘Right off the kickoff he just plows into Gabriel. That’s not football.’

A final fan believed that Richarlison had ill intent with his challenge and should have been given a read.

They wrote: ‘That’s a red card for Richarlison, what is the intention there other than to hurt the opponent?’

Richarlison stayed on the pitch, however, as the north London derby came to a close with Arsenal coming out narrow victors in the entertaining affair.
