Bruno hints at ‘thinking about’ quitting Utd with club prepared for fire-sale

MANCHESTER UNITED captain Bruno Fernandes has hinted at thinking about quitting the club.

The midfielder has spent more than four years at Old Trafford after arriving in January 2024.

He became a key player instantly and was appointed captain by Erik ten Hag last summer.

But there is a chance Fernandes could leave when the transfer window re-opens amid interest from Saudi Arabia.

Fernandes, 29, has revealed he will consider his options after featuring at Euro 2024 for Portugal.

He told DAZNPortugal: “I’m not thinking too much about the future, not least because, obviously, this season hasn’t been at the level I’d hoped for, either individually or collectively, so far.

“We could still end the season by winning the [FA] Cup. After that, we have a very important Euros coming up.

“If you want me to be very honest, if I have to think about not continuing in the Premier League, it won’t be until after the Euros.

“Nothing will be able to take my focus away from the FA Cup final and the Euros, as there’s nothing more important than that at the moment.”

United are set for a summer of upheaval and will reportedly listen to offers for all but three members of their squad.

The young trio of Kobbie Mainoo, Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho are the only stars that will not be sold under any circumstances.

That means Fernandes could be sold for the right price, and he could be replaced by Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala or Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.
