Carlo Ancelotti reveals reason behind Jude Bellingham’s poor performance against Bayern Munich

Overall, it was a fairly average performance from Real Madrid during their 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich on Tuesday, but one player who was particular highlighted for having an off-night was Jude Bellingham.

The Englishman was fairly quiet for 75 minutes, before being replaced by Brahim Diaz. However, there was a reason why he wasn’t at his best, as Carlo Ancelotti revealed (via Diario AS) that he has been on the fringes in the last few days because of illness.

“He’s had cramps. He hasn’t been at his best, the virus has affected him a lot. But next week, he’ll be at 100%. He’s going to get back to his best.”

Bellingham was initially left out of Real Madrid’s squad for the victory over Real Sociedad last weekend because of a stomach virus, but was later called up – although he played no part in the end. All associated with Los Blancos will be desperate to have him back at full capacity for next week’s return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.
