Fans were heaping praise on Manuel Neuer for his performance against Real Madrid when the veteran goalkeeper gifted Los Blancos an equaliser in the dying stages of the champions league semi-final.

Neuer had made string of fine saves before Alphonso Davies gave Bayern Munich the lead with a thunderous strike.

Madrid were starting to get desperate as the game neared injury time but they were given a lifeline as Vincius Jr’s relatively tame strike was spilled into Joselu’s path by Neuer.

The substitute tucked it away to level the tie and then compounded Neuer’s misery by putting the hosts ahead three minutes later.
