Real Madrid hit with major blow as injury to key player is doubt for UCL final

Real Madrid are still basking in the glow of another glorious comeback in the Champions League, their 2-1 win over Bayern Munich taking them to the final. However there is now doubt that one of their key players may miss the clash with Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.

Aurelien Tchouameni was substituted after 70 minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu, although he gave no indication of an injury, but Real Madrid have announced that he has suffered a stress injury to a muscle in his left foot, and did not confirm when he would return, as is standard. Diario AS say that he is a doubt for the final, but that he should be back for the Euros this summer.

The injury occurred in his left foot, where he suffered a fracture earlier this season, which kept him out for six weeks. If it is a grade one muscle issue, these tend to take one to two weeks to heal, while grade two would suggest a three to four week recovery period. With just over three weeks until the final, it seems likely that he would be back in time for the final, provided there are no complications.
